Ok fellow geeks, if you have ever been to one of my DJ nights you have probably figured out that I have a mighty fondness for music from the 50’s and 60’s. I love finding current artists who are able to pay homage to the music of that time as few and far between as they are. Nick Waterhouse is the newest musician to enter my radar, and wow. As a fellow 45 record hound, Waterhouse manages to nail the production to create a sound reminiscent of artists like Little Richard, Ray Charles and The Coasters. As a firm believer that digital music leaves plenty to be desired, he has chosen to record in an analog studio, with a live band to be released on his preferred medium, vinyl (in the 45 format). However, his self titled EP has also been released via iTunes so that even folks living in the digital age can give him a listen.
