WATCH: “Homeland” Season 2 Trailer
In a year of excellent freshmen offerings, Showtime’s Homeland emerged at the top of the pack with a win for Claire Danes at the Golden Globes and 9 Primetime Emmy nominations; including Best Drama, Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Lead Actor, to show for it.
The first season of the dramatic thriller took off at a dizzying pace as determined CIA analyst Carrie Mathison (Danes) went up against all odds and perhaps her better judgement and trusted her instincts to pursue an American war-hero (Damian Lewis’s Nicholas Brody) as a potential terror suspect. Sparks flew between Carrie and Brody as their relationship morphed from friendship, to lovers, to adversaries. Homeland also boasts amazing supporting performances including those from Morena Baccarin and Mandy Patinkin.
This new trailer puts us in the perspective of Carrie who at the end of season one finally sought out the medical help that she needed. The last we saw of Carrie she was discharged from the CIA and undergoing electroshock therapy.
Homeland returns September 30th on Showtime.
