Toronto ComiCon Cosplay and More!

Fellow writer, Kat Mae and I wandered the halls for the 3 day Toronto ComicCon this weekend to see what trouble we could get into.

So of COURSE we took lots of pics of all the wonderful Cosplays displayed at this years con. You`ll find a gallery of them at the bottom of this post. But here`s a recap of what happened in case you missed it:

This Con is like the baby brother to it’s much larger counterpart, Fan Expo, which is held at the end of August every year. So it was much more relaxed as it’s only one room, but the guest list was still pretty stellar with Billy Boyd, Sean Astin, Eliza Dushku, and Brandon Routh to name a few.

The 501st Legion booth was easily the most enjoyable booth to be around. You could shoot a nerf gun at a Storm Trooper for a few dollars that all went to charity. EVERY time we passed the booth, I couldn’t help but laugh at the reaction of the Troopers to the nerf pellets hitting them.

Popular panels included Billy Boyd/Sean Astin from Lord of the Rings showing off their tattoos,  &  of Orphan Black talking clones with the Innerspace peeps and T-Dog (IronE Singleton) demonstrating his version of a Zombie to the tunes of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Speaking of panels, I was invited to join the Doctor Who Society of Canada to speak on a panel about building Doctor Who Cosplay costumes. I was very flattered that they thought my costuming was up to snuff to talk about it!

Another bonus was the food court was all Food Trucks!! This would never happen for Fan Expo as these trucks would be out and about servicing the street crowds. Apparently this time of year is slow. Either way, we were very happy to see them!

Fans never cease to amaze me with their new and interesting interpretations of the things they love. Check out the gallery below of the ones we managed to catch, plus a smattering of celebs.

If you see a cosplayer that should be tagged and isn’t, comment below and we’ll get them added!
