The Walking Dead Season 2 Promo Art AMC Reviews

The Walking Dead Season Premiere [Discuss]

I didn’t watch The Walking Dead season 2 premiere. Call me a bad TVG33K, I don’t care. I’ll get to it eventually but I’m in no rush.

Beyond the jump: Why I skipped the premiere & I’m asking you to tell me why I need to see it.

I read volume one of Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel “Days Gone By” before season one came out on TV. I was really digging it. There was a lot about The Walking Dead season one that I thought was really great. I loved a lot of the visuals and imagery, I loved Andrew Lincoln doing Rick Grimes’ swagger and his lonesome ride down the deserted highway. I loved Glenn. And I was enjoying that it was a bit different from most shows that I was watching at the time.

However, after a few episodes, the boring outweighed the cool. The characters never clicked for me in a way that made them feel real. I never cared  about them beyond the time I saw them on the screen. The moments that were meant to hold emotional weight fell flat. And for a horror/zombie drama there was a serious lack of action. So season one, without meaningful characters to connect with, not enough action and forward momentum left me cold. I enjoyed it well enough, but that was it.

I get really into shows, ask my friends (or y’know, read my posts here) I do it too easily and for too many shows that probably don’t deserve so much of my attention. I wanted to be excited for season two of Walking Dead and I really tried. But I just wasn’t. So I’ll watch it… eventually.

Here’s where you come in.

Tell me why I’m wrong and absolutely need to watch season 2. Tell me what you love about The Walking Dead and the premiere episode

OR

Tell me why you skipped it too.

Also, if you just really want to know what I think of the new season let me know. If I get some encouragement perhaps I’ll watch it sooner rather than later and post a review. I’ll hold no grudges if it’s really great, I promise.

Although it maybe true that the show was slower moving to begin with the characters are much more fleshed out now – and you can see the direction things are going in instead of just being blind. The tension building and bleak atmosphere is back but with a side order of hope – perfect for a zombie apocalypse.

    Give it another change 🙂
