The Music of Mr. Viral
New cool indie movie alert! Mr. Viral is a dark satirical window into the marketing agency world…Ladies and gentlemen, this is no Mad Men. In fact, when my guy (who works in the the sordid agency industry) watched the trailer he exclaimed “omigod this looks friggen hilarious!”
Wanna see for yourself? Mr Viral is closing out the Canadian Film Festival this Saturday, March 23 and you can catch it playing at The Royal at 8:30pm. Check out the trailer:
On a music note, Toronto electronic artist, Austra contributes to the movie’s soundtrack, making it even cooler. When the film called for “high energy, erratic, PMS, desperate, coked-up, girly energy,” the track ‘Beat and Pulse’ from the album, ‘Feel It Break’ did the job. Austra’s sound is a cutting edge hybrid of synthpop, gravewave, and trashpop fused together by her amazing voice. This girl has talent and is unafraid to delve into the areas of electronic music others dare not to go. Austra is also playing here in Toronto as part of Canadian Music Week, on Saturday March 23rd at the Danforth Music Hall.
Mr. Viral’s soundtrack also features a wide range of electronic music genres such as house, electro, trip-hop, hip-hop, dubstep and techno with quite a few talented artists such as Greedy Pockets, Danny Lifted, Electro808, Noise Seduction, and more. If you don’t get to catch Mr. Viral at the Canadian Film Fest, you’re definitely missing out but make sure to keep up to date online.
After all: Persuasion. Perversion. Promotion. Porn. It’s all the same on the net!
