The Man, The Legend to Score Star Wars: Episode VII
With new Star Wars films currently in the works, many of us fans have expressed both excitement and concerns about the continuation of the saga, from what the story line will be to who will be portraying the characters. Out of the many factors that will determine the outcome of the films, one of the greatest concerns has been this:
Who will be in charge of the freaking music?
The original score was created by none other than legendary composer, John Williams, whose legacy has been carried on throughout some of the greatest films in all of cinema history. Now at the age of 81, Williams is still going strong, composing the score for recent films including The Adventures of Tinin, War Horse, and Lincoln. I had only hoped and prayed that he will continue on with Episode VII.
Our prayers were answered last week at Star Wars Celebration: Europe when it was announced that Williams will in fact be scoring Star Wars: Episode VII.
Williams sat down with StarWars.com for his first interview regarding the news. I may or may not have watched this multiple times. This man is truly an inspiration.
