The Hobbit: Production Video #8: Peter Jackson at Comic Con

Are you totally psyched for The Hobbit yet? It’s a project that seems to have been in the making for ages and with new footage previewed at Comic Con, it finally feels like we’re in the crazy promo homestretch before the film finally lands this December. We’ve been distracted by the glitz, glam and pure awesomeness of the summer blockbusters The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises taking over much of our obsessive attention but now my Hobbit obsession is kicking into full gear.

Posted to Peter Jackson’s official facebook page, the charming New Zealander behind the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and now the much anticipated Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, gives us an inside look at what it was like bringing “The Hobbit” to San Diego Comic Con 2012 and a peek into the final 5 days of the shoot!

Hi everyone. I know that not everybody gets to Comic Con, so I thought I’d bring a little bit of Comic Con to you! Here’s some of what I saw in San Diego, and what those in Hall H got to see of The Hobbit!

Is there such thing as too excited for a movie to premiere? Just this production video gives me the shivers, or maybe it’s just Lee Pace flitting about the screen as an Elvin King to be, or the stunning sets constructed to represent the cities, and places in Middle Earth, or the absolute love and dedication that seems to radiate from the cast and crew.

The Hobbit is such a beloved story, stacked with a fantastic cast including favourites (to name only a few); Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Lee Pace, and Cate Blanchett, and helmed by one of my favourite directors, Peter Jackson! December 14th can’t come soon enough.

Are you as excited as we are for The Hobbit? What did you think of Peter Jackson’s production diary?
