The Cast of “The Wire” reunites for “The Wire: The Musical”
…because a drama defined by it’s gritty realism on the streets and in the institutions of Baltimore and musicals are two of my favourite things.
On The Wire‘s tenth anniversary Omar Little, Snoop, Bubbles, Kima and a re-cast McNulty are back together and this time, it’s Musical!
“Michael Kenneth Williams stars alongside Sonja Sohn, Larry Gillard Jr., Andre Royo & Felicia “Snoop” Pearson from The Wire in The Wire: The Musical where they will allow you to experience America’s failing drug war through the magic of song.”
The folks at FunnyorDie have scored again even earning a thumbs up from The Wire creator, David Simon.
The only thing that could have made this better would have been an appearance from Lance Reddick, or Dominic West, perhaps in an Officer Krupke type number. The trailer promises that we’ll “experience all five seasons of one of television’s densest shows in 90 minutes of musical magic.” Yes please!
