Two new faces will be joining the cast of Star Wars Episode VII: breakthrough actress Lupita Nyong’o, (who recently won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 12 Years a Slave) and Gwendoline Christie, (best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the hit television series Game of Thrones). This announcement comes just two weeks after filming officially began at Pinewood Studios in London.
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
