Star Wars 1313 Game Footage – woah

Ok so who’s ready to be a bad ass bounty hunter? I know I sure as hell am! It’s about time LucasArts releases an M-rated game that explores the underbelly of the Star Wars universe! (well at least Coruscant)

LucasArts demo’d their newest title at this year’s E3 just last week, and boy what a demo! Star Wars 1313, LucasArts’ newest addition to their gaming franchise, is very reminiscent of Uncharted 3, which in my opinion was one of the most visually stunning third person shooters to date. The graphics for the demo were powered by the current Unreal 3 engine and look absolutely incredible. Yep that’s right, I said CURRENT. Makes you wonder why can’t ALL games look that good right? Like with Uncharted 3, it’s hard to tell where the CGI sequences end and game play begins, and this is just the pre=production version. I’m really hoping they don’t lose the quality of the graphics if and when they port it over to PS3.

In it you play a bounty hunter on Level 1313, deep below the surface of Coruscant. Along with hunting down targets, you’ll also have to solve a criminal conspiracy all while being a bad-ass Fett wannabe with an impressive arsenal of weapons. Oh and don’t expect to rely on force powers, Jedis or any of that Force crap. Nope, you’ll have to rely on good ol’ shootin’ and duck n’ cover strategies to survive.

“The criminal underworld of 1313 is a little more grounded and that has to live in the mechanics of the game,” says Creative Director Dominic Robilliard. “Having mechanics that are limited by human ability makes things more relatable, then we can put all the cool stuff you can do into the gadgets and weapons.

“You still get to do all of these amazing things because of the environment the game takes place in and because of the gear you have. But at the core you still have these vulnerabilities that are a bit more relatable, so you won’t have the demigod complex of a Jedi.”

A game like this will obviously need some incredible voice acting and great story writing to go along with those graphics. Can we please make sure that nobody lets George anywhere near this story? Please?
