Sneak Peek of Marvel’s Ant Man
As Marvel continues to celebrate its 75th anniversary, they aired a special called Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop! last night. Among the celebrity interviews and an inspiring retelling of the company history from the Marvel creative team, fans were teased with behind the scenes previews and most excitingly, a sneak peek of the highly anticipated Ant Man. The preview is especially exciting in the wake of the drama Ant Man has had in its production; after losing director Edgar Wright during pre-production, complications set filming back. Happily, Peyton Reed (Yes Man) stepped up to direct and the fans will get to see one of the House of Ideas’ earliest heroes hit the big screen.
The new footage was a behind the scenes look, and showed Paul Rudd as Scott Lang meeting with Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. There is also a quick look at Lang approaching Pym’s Ant Man suit. Fans will know the story of Scott Lang, the thief who stole the Ant Man suit and assumed the hero’s identity with the encouragement of the suit’s creator and the original Ant Man, Hank Pym. The movie will follow the story of Lang’s Ant Man, and build towards him joining the Avengers. There is still no footage of the supporting cast, it looks like we have to wait a little longer to see Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne and the rest in action; but there is no doubt that Marvel will give us an extended look at the movie before too long.
