More than Quack!: Howard The Duck hits comic stands
After his cameo in the stinger of Guardians of the Galaxy, Howard the Duck is back. He is living in New York City, has a PI case hunting infamous burglar, The Black Cat, and just pissing off various Marvel heroes. (Hint: never call She-Hulk ‘doll’.)
Announced last fall, as covered by GEEKPR0N here, Howard the Duck issue 1 was released on March 11th. To celebrate, there was a signing by its writer Chip Zdarsky at Toronto’s No One Writes to the Colonel, a funky cocktail bar. It was a double event as Sex Criminals Volume 2, for which Chip was the artist, also had its release.
Chip happily did sketches on blank covers, or just signed multiple copies of Howard or Sex Criminals, or “Just the Tips” a spin off of Fraction’s and Zdarsky’s Sex Criminal series. When asked for a quote about Howard he said, “He’s a duck. He talks. I’m so proud of him.”
As for the comic itself, we see Howard Theduck’s P.I. office, get a close look at The Black Cat’s reading preferences, a few roof top escapades and…well that would be telling.
