The Pull List: Top 5 Titles for April 16

Wednesday is quickly approaching, so here are five books to watch and a quick breakdown of what you might want to add to your pull list.

5. Wonder Woman #30

As far as super heroes go, Wonder Woman takes no prisoners. So when DCU makes her the God of War and gives her an army, you know it’s going to be a cool book. DC is also promising the return of the Amazons, so if warrior women aren’t enough incentive to pick up this title, then I don’t know what else to say…

4. Ultimate FF #1

FF no longer stands for Fantastic Four, in the wake of Cataclysm the Ultimate Universe is not what it was.  Sue Storm is heading up the new team that consists of Iron Man, Machine Man and Falcon. On top of that already amazing line-up, Marvel is teasing that another member will join the team before the end of the first issue.

3. Genesis (one shot)

Image Comics is releasing this one shot by Nathan Edmondson with art by Alison Sampson. The premise is simple but unique; a man discovers that he can manifest anything with a thought. Of course that kind of power also breeds fear.

2. American Vampire Second Cycle #2

In case you missed my review of issue one, you can find it here but in short, it was a great kick-off to the Second Cycle. So it goes without saying that I’m pretty excited for issue two. This issue will focus on Pearl and how she reacts when her safe house is threatened.

1. Superior Spider-Man #31

The series is ending with issue 31 and Peter Parker will be reborn. The Green Goblin will be unmasked and we will learn the fate of Dr Otto Octavius. Superior Spider-Man has been a saga of body swapping and has thrown into question the kind of hero that Peter Parker was. Now with Amazing Spider-Man about to relaunch, the expectations are high for the end of Superior Spider-Man.

On top of these five, we can also look forward to Batman Eternal #2 (my review of issue one is here), Hulk #1 which will address the fall out from the finale of Indestructable Hulk, Ms Marvel #3 will continue Kamala Khan’s story as the first Muslim character to headline her own book, and finally Sinestro #1 will see Sinestro try to recover from a devastating loss.
