The Pull List: Top 5 for April 30
Welcome to The Pull List where we take a look at this week’s new comic releases, and I give you my top 5 pulls of the week!
It’s a big week for ending story arcs and new beginnings! If you haven’t been on board with some of these storylines (like Black Science) then I highly recommend catching up. And if you were looking for a good place to jump on board Spider-Man or Batman, here’s your chance!
5. Origin II #5 (of 5)
After the success of Origin in 2002, Marvel decided to finish the tale of Wolverine’s coming of age. Picking up after young James Howlett ran from home, Origin II sees Wolverine struggle as he loses yet another family. In this final issue, Wolverine will have to come to terms with what he’s done to regain his humanity.
4. All New X-Men #26
In this book about the original five X-Men stuck in time alongside their future selves, Jean Grey struggles to cope with what she knows of her own future. On top of that, the Brotherhood of the Future return and they are sure to cause trouble for the original X-Men.
3. Forever Evil Aftermath: Batman vs Bane #1
With Forever Evil resolved, Batman is back in Gotham and ready to clean up, but Bane is in the way. DC is billing this book as “the grudge match of the century”, and given Batman and Bane’s previous meetings, I have no doubt it’ll be a good fight.
2. Black Science #6
If you aren’t reading Black Science, you should be; the story of scientist Grant McKay’s journey to other realities and his struggle to return his team home safely is compelling and exciting. Each issue brings a new reality, new threat and new creatures and issue 6 will end the first story arc with a bang when McKay faces off against his former boss.
1. Amazing Spider-Man #1
In the wake of Superior Spider-Man ending, Peter Parker is back. Written by well-loved Spider-Man scribe Dan Slott, Amazing Spider-Man is sure to be familiar to Spidey fans, but Peter will no doubt have a new outlook on life after everything he’s just been through.
