The Pull List: New Releases and Top 5 for July 23
In this week’s Pull List, both Marvel and DC both have interesting twists on some of their classic characters. My Top 5 features some books that have intriguing twists.
The Flash #33
Tensions are high as Barry is trying to solve a murder, but the bigger question is will he become a victim? In classic Flash fashion, the race is on as Barry has to save himself and of course, Future Flash from a grizzly fate.
All-New X-Men #30
This issue will see the Future Brotherhood make a final play against the X-Men, but it will also see Angel and X-23 become involved with one another. This pairing is so bizarre, I can’t imagine how the two characters could possibly get along. It will be worth the read to find out.
Batman and Robin #33
Continuing right where Robin Rises Omega left off, this issue sees Batman reunited with his classic sidekick and facing off against the Justice League! Batman decides to pursue the Chaos Shard back to Apokolips, where Darkseid reigns.
Amazing Spider-Man #4
Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man may only be four issues in, but it is shaping up to be a great run. This week’s issue will tie into Marvel’s summer event Original Sin. It turns out that Peter Parker was not the only one bitten by a radio-active spider, but someone else got powers at the same time. Now the secret is out and Spidey’s life is about to become more complicated.
Storm #1
She went from street urchin, to goddess and queen, so she is more than deserving of her own title. Now, as Head Mistress of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, Storm has faced some huge challenges; readers will finally get to see her side of the story as she continues her struggle to teach the next generation of X-Men.
