The Pull List: New Comics and Top 5 for December 10th
As the weather gets colder, it gets harder and harder to pull me off of the couch and away from my stack of unread books. Every week that stack gets a little taller as I add new single issues to the top. This week is sure to add to my reading list as it should yours. Here are the top five to look out for:
Eternal #1
It’s a story we’ve seen before, but that doesn’t make it any less relevant. In the future the rich can pay to live forever, but what is the price of immortality? What does this mean for humanity? In Eternal, William Harms and Giovanni Valletta will explore these questions in BOOM! Studios new ongoing title.
East of West World (one shot)
East of West is a mesmerizing series that is filled with secrets. This one shot will provide all of the background information you need to be fully versed in the story’s details, along with some previously unreleased information about the characters. Think of it as the ultimate companion book and one I am super excited to get my hands on.
Guardians of the Galaxy Annual #1
Weird things happen in space, but a SHIELD hellicarrier popping up is more bizarre than even the Guardians are used to. Just when everything seems normal and calm, the Guardians will have to face the mystery of how the flark a hellicarrier ended up on their doorstep.
Harley Quinn Holiday Special #1
Harley is many things, but she is certainly never dull. Who better to have her own holiday feature issue? From DC’s promotional material, this book looks like a lot of the standard Harley fair but with a healthy dose of holiday cheer. Prepare for a fluffy and fun one shot with plenty of puns and no shortage of Christmas-themed mayhem.
Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1
In case you aren’t on board with the whole Spider-verse thing, here is a new Annual with two fun Spidey stories to help tide you over. Writers Sean Ryan and Jai Nitz team up with artists Brendon Peterson and Ron Salas to bring Spidey fans this little reprieve from the Webcrawler’s big event.
