The Pull List: New Comic Releases and Top 5 for June 25
I’m not going to lie to you guys, it was tough to choose just five books to feature this week. With Wolverine: 3 Months to Die now running, and fantastic titles like Saga and Pariah continuing, my pull list is getting pretty long. After much deliberation, here are my top five of note for this week.
Trees #2
Expanding on the dynamic debut, issue 2 will farther examine the mystery behind the strange alien invaders to earth. In the first issue, we were introduced to some of the sites where the trees landed; an arctic research station, a new city in China, these places will shape the future.
Amazing Spider-Man #3
Hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned, and Black Cat is pissed off! She’s formidable at the best of times, but as Peter Parker is still regaining his senses after the body-swapping events of Superior Spider-Man, he’s likely to find Felicia Hardy a real challenge.
Savage Hulk #1
Written and illustrated by Alan Davis, the first issue of Savage Hulk will see the Hulk square off against the X-Men. Not only that, but Marvel is promising to reveal a connection between Bruce Banner and Charles Xavier. While I have no clue of what this connection may be, it certainly is an interesting way to kick off a new book.
Adventures of Superman #14
Superman is plagued by villains with infinite intellect, resources and powers. They need these abilities to stand a chance against the last son of Krypton. But what happens when Superman is faced with a completely unpredictable psychopath? Well in this issue, the Joker pays the Man of Steele a visit and readers will learn just how well Superman deals with crazy.
Outcast by Kirkman and Azaceta #1
Robert Kirkman has made quite a name for himself since creating The Walking Dead, of course he has other comics, like Invincible, to his credit as well. Now he’s kicking off a new horror title that focuses on demonic possession. In Outcast, Kyle Barnes has struggled with possession his entire life and now as he looks for answers, what he finds could put the fate of humanity in danger.
