The Pull List: New Comic Releases and Top 5 for December 17
What better way to fill the holiday break than with comics? You can curl up by the fire, avoid your family and escape into a world where superheroes are awesome and you don’t have to entertain your crazy aunt. Here are this week’s top five titles to help you wind down the year:
Inhuman #10
Axis has thrown the Marvel U into chaos, and even Inhumans are just as susceptible. Medusa isn’t quite herself after her inversion and she’s acting out. So who steps up when an Inhuman is out of line? Spider-Man of course!
Rumble #1
Image has quite a pitch for their new ongoing title starring a Rathraq a “Scarecrow Warrior God” with a mean streak. Created by John Arcudi and James Harren, this book promises all sorts of bizarre creatures in a dark universe. It looks innovative and definitely worth checking out.
The Sandman: Overture #4 (of 6)
It’s a long wait between issues of this highly anticipated prequel, but it’s worth it. Neil Gaiman continues the story of Morpheus’ journey leading to his capture, where we find him at the beginning of The Sandman. Accompanied by J.H. Williams III sweeping and beautiful art, it’s tough not to get excited when an issue of The Sandman: Overture releases.
Batman #37
This issue will be the third in the super mysterious Batman Endgame story arc and while very little is known about what direction the arc will take, Nerdist.com managed to get a sneak peak. It looks like the Joker toxin is about to be loosed on Gotham City, as though Batman didn’t have enough problems. Fans of the Dark Knight will want to check this one out.
Captain Marvel #10
Believe it or not, this issue will mark Carol Danvers’ 100th solo issue and that’s worth celebrating! No matter what costume she wears, Carol is a force to be reckoned with and after 100 issues she’s earned her place in the Marvel pantheon and the publisher is celebrating with this double-sized issue.
