The Pull List: New Comic Releases for May 28
There are a lot of great titles hitting your local comic book store this week, including a Guardians of the Galaxy movie tie in and a huge roster from DC. Here are my top 5 picks for this week:
5. Nightwing #30
In the aftermath of Forever Evil, the DCU is still dealing with the reprecussions and in Nightwing’s series finale, they will have to figure out what to do without him.
4. Chew / Revival #1
Chew and Revival are crossing over in a meld of noir and macabre. Both creative teams are involved in two original stories that are great for fans of the series or anyone looking to jump on.
3. Thanos Annual #1
Thanos is one of the Marvel Universe’s most infamous villians. Jim Starlin and Ron Lim the team behind the classic Infinity Gauntlet are reunited to tell this new story from Thanos’s past.
2. C.O.W.L. #1
C.O.W.L. stands for “Chicago Organized Worker’s League” and they are the world’s first Super-Hero Labor Union. In this new book, the union needs to combat through the disillusionment of the people they protect while combating evil villains and traitors amongst them.
1. Trees #1
Warren Ellis is behind this new science fiction about first contact with a species that land and lay low, not recognizing humanity as intelligent. Teamed up with artist Jason Howard, Ellis says that Trees could potentially be a long term project which is great news since it looks awesome.
