Neil deGrasse Tyson finds Superman’s home planet

Brilliant Astrophysicist and my freakin’ hero, Neil deGrasse Tyson, used his real world super cosmo skills to locate Superman’s home planet, Krypton!

27 light years from earth, nestled in the constellation Corvus, Krypton finds a home in orbit around the dwarf star, LHS 2520.

Not only did Tyson find the planet, he gets to deliver the news to the Man of Steel himself! DC Comics approached Neil and asked him to use real science to locate Krypton for Action Comics Superman #14, “Star light, Star bright” which was released today. In return, DC Comics immortalized Neil deGrasse Tyson in the pages of the new book.

I could only imagine how much Neil’s inner child squeeed when he was asked to help Superman. His actual response went like this:

As a native of Metropolis, I was delighted to help Superman, who has done so much for my city over all these years, and it’s clear that if he weren’t a superhero he would have made quite an astrophysicist.

I cannot WAIT to get my hands on this today.

What do you think? Are you excited about finally finding Krypton?
