Stolen from the words of Donny & Marie, Those Darlins are a little bit country and little bit rock n’ roll. Throw in some power-pop persuasion and sixties girl group goodness to taste, and here’s a blend that I can’t wait to hear more from.

With their sophomore album , ‘Screws Get Loose’, I’ve found a new leader of the pack here, folks. Hailing from Middle, Tennessee these gals and guy sing songs that any geeky girl could relate to. In their song, ‘Be Your Bro’ (video after the jump) lyrics like, “I just wanna be your brother, you just wanna be my boyfriend. I just wanna run and play in the dirt with you, you just wanna stick it in” sing like entries straight out of my own high school diary.

Those Darlins give it their all on, ‘Screws Get Loose.’ The country punk rockers let their Southern twang ring through and cover a lot of musical ground with influences ranging from Phil Spector style girl pop to stoner jams to group vocal anthems which stick in your head.
