Montreal Comic Con Cosplay 2014
Montreal ComicCon is over for another year with a record breaking attendance of 51,000!
Although the presence of Matt Smith was sorely missed, it didn’t stop the thousands of fans from roaming the halls of the Palais Des Congrés in the hopes of seeing their favourite character or celebrity.
I was lucky enough to take part in the masquerade this year, coming away with an award for Best Prosthetic in the Journeyman Division for my Novice Hame. But the masquerade isn’t about me. It’s about getting to hang with all the amazing people who build stuff. Who sit at home in the wee hours of the morning making something they love so they can wear it. These people have 9-5 jobs like you and I. We don’t have tons of money to spend on endless sheets of Warbla, so sometimes it’s endless bottles of spray foam instead. But the results are worth it and I got a behind the scenes look at all of them. That made me very happy.
Check out the images below from the whole weekend separated by day. Including ‘Green Room’ shots of the masquerade contestants and the loooong wait we all had before stepping on stage for our 60 seconds of fame. Sunday’s images include some shots of the award winners of the masquerade.
