Marvel’s Jessica Jones Gets a Release Date!
Check out this teaser trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones, set to premiere on Netflix on November 20! Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) stars as the title character, who becomes a private detective to help people and escape her dark past. Predominantly based on Alias, a series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, fans can expect this series to maintain the darker, more adult tone established in Marvel’s Daredevil. Melissa Rosenberg, the showrunner, has experience directing darker TV, with Dexter under her belt. The series also stars David Tennant as Kilgrave (comics’ Purple Man), Mike Colter as Luke Cage (aka superhero Power Man, and Jessica’s husband in the comics) and Rachael Taylor as Patsy Walker (who will hopefully become hero Hellcat). Hopefully such a strong supporting cast will feature in all of Marvel’s TV offerings – not only do more characters make for better drama, they increase the Easter Eggs and cameos!
After the huge success of Marvel’s Daredevil, expectations will be running high for Jessica Jones. What did you think of the teaser? What other Marvel characters are you hoping to see in this series? With colder weather on the way, Marvel’s Jessica Jones will be the perfect excuse to stay inside all day and binge-watch some nerdy TV.
