Mario Vs. Pokemon Gameboy Movie
Did you ever wonder what it would be like to see Mario fight a Pokemon in real life but with the color scheme of a Game Boy? Well apparently, claymation specialist and parody artist funny man Lee Hardcastle does. Here he has created a funny and totally accurate parody of the two games in a hilarious way, mixing live action and claymation to make an entertaining experience for the viewer.
Lee Hardcastle is known for his full claymation parody videos, and this is a rare mashup of real footage and clay which worked out hilariously. The sound effects and background music is awesome and Mario is hilariously played by Hardcastle himself. I especially liked the part where Mario gets the magic star and is doing the sound that happens in the game with his voice while wielding a real hammer. I also thought it was funny how he included the blowing on the game thing at the beginning. Remember how we used to have to do that?
It is obvious Hardcastle is an avid gamer so paying homage to some of his favorites is only natural. I think it’s cool that instead of going with a newer layout he chose to go with a Game Boy theme – and anyone who ever owned a Game Boy knows how awesome that thing was for its time anyway. It was the first hand held video game that was half decent and came in handy during those long family road trips to Florida.
If there’s one thing to be said, Lee is an extremely creative, funny and talented guy who really loves what he does, and it shows. I look forward to seeing what he parodies next but I can almost guarantee it’ll be great.
