Mad Men Releases Limited Vinyl Press of Jessica Pare’s ‘Zou Bisou Bisou’
The premiere of season five of Mad Men brought us all back to the swinging sixties last week. But after a 17 month hiatus, it wasn’t Don Draper or Roger or Joan who got things buzzing. Draper’s new wife Megan, played by Jessica Pare, serenaded her husband with a sexy rendition of the obscure 1961 French pop hit “Zou Bisou Bisou” which translates to, “Oh You, Kiss Kiss.”
How sexy was it? Just ask the millions of viewers who made the scene a viral hit. And to put a plump and juicy cherry on top of this already awesome story, there will be a limited edition vinyl 7″ of the song released on your choice of red or black vinyl (which includes the show’s theme on the ‘B’ side). Now this is where my geekiness gets to shine; I love me some sixties french pop which is why you can see the performance on Mad Men AND hear the original track after the jump.
The original tune came out in 1961 and was performed by a french actress and pop star by the name of Gillian Hills who you might remember from a brief but steamy role in the 1966 film, ‘Blow-Up’. Which version gets you going; Gillian’s cheeky original or the sexy remake?
And of course, we have Megan Draper’s performance for Don and the rest of the gang.
I’ve already reserved a spot for this platter in my collection and can’t wait to give it a spin. You can order your vinyl copy from AMC’s official Mad Men website or the the digital version on iTunes.
I am obsessed with Mad Men. It is literally my favourite show ever created, squee! Needs more Betty and Pete/Peggy.
