Lost Girl Renewed!
Less than two weeks after the Canadian airing of the fourth season finale, Showcase announced the renewal of Lost Girl for a fifth season. The order was for another 13 episode season. Showcase has also confirmed that filming will start this spring, and that they will air the episodes next fall.
Celebrated as a Canadian success, Lost Girl is one of Showcase’s break out original series. It explores the world of the Fae, through the eyes of an unaligned succubus named Bo. The fourth season brought the audience deeper into the world of the Fae, with character’s histories and Bo’s lost memories revealed. One plot line provided a bit more insight to the mysterious Wanderer from the 3rd season. The last few episode also gave the audience reason to suspect a shake up of the normal cast.
Several of the actors are confirmed for season five, including both of Bo’s (played by Anna Silk) love interests:Kris Holden-Ried as the wolf shape-shifter Dyson and Zoie Palmer as the brilliant scientist and medical doctor Lauren. Rounding out the cast are Rick Howland as Bo’s grandfather Trick, and Rachel Skarsten as the Valkyrie warrior Tamsin. Fan favourites Paul Amos, as the Mesmer Vex, and Emmanuelle Vaugier, as The Morrigan, who may or may not still be leader of the Dark Fae, are also confirmed as guest stars.
The last few episodes of season four leave several narrative strands loose to which this hopeful fan eagerly anticipates resolutions.
So while those in the US still have half a season to watch on Syfy, they can do it with the comforting knowledge that the adventures of Bo will continue for another year.
