Legend of Zelda’s Temple of Time Given a Modern Makeover Using Unreal 4

I told myself that I wasn’t one of those people who got overly excited anytime a fan recreated their favourite location from a beloved series using mediums like Minecraft or toothpicks. Then I saw this recreation of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s Temple of Time, and quickly realized that when it comes to my own favourite fandoms, I am more than willing to make a squealing fool of myself in the middle of my office.

It was created by lighting and texture artist Michael Eurek after a friend suggested that he recreate an old video game environment using modern techniques. The result is pretty darned fantastic. There are the familiar sights such as the three swirling gems and the master sword chamber. Then there are personal touches that Eurek added himself like the owl statues which is clearly an homage to the owl that stalks Link in order to give him exposition and advice through his journey.

Am I the only one who wants to see the rest of the game environments recreated?
