Jeremy Bulloch aka Boba Fett talks about Star Wars Episode VII
I had the opportunity this weekend, at the first Toronto Superfan Comic Con, to talk with Jeremy Bulloch, the man who played Boba Fett, in both “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”, about his thoughts regarding Star Wars Episode VII.
I asked him if he was excited for the new Star Wars Movies, in which he replied, “You have to be excited for it”. Jeremy also went on to explain that there is a huge excitement in Britain right now and friends of his have been asking him for passes to come and see the shooting of the film, to which he tells them, “Hang on guys, I gotta get myself a pass!”
Jeremy and I then discussed Boba Fett’s untimely demise in Return of the Jedi. While I believe that Boba is still alive, Jeremy is a firm believer that Boba Fett is dead! And the only way to have him not dead is if JJ takes a pen, writes him up in a script, and then, and only then, will Boba Fett live again.
I was actually surprised to learn that Jeremy would not want to come back to the movie as Boba Fett, he believes that they would get a younger person than him to play Boba Fett, if the character were to return.
Although not wanting to don the helmet and strap on the jetpack, Jeremy would want to have a cameo appearance only in the new movie. Drifting around in the background. Jeremy actually wants to send a direct message to JJ Abrams saying,
“JJ, you can do that!”
Overall Jeremy thinks the movie will be wonderful, and is pretty excited for the release of Star Wars: Episode VII. Coming December 2015.
