Is social media making us socially awkward?

As awesome as social media tools can be, they can also be a curse. While some people like the idea of the world knowing what they are doing every second of the day others like myself find no such pleasure.

Sure, I like to share cool things and spread awareness for causes I care about, but I also find myself getting into stupid arguments over my own personal opinions with so-called “friends” that wouldn’t have happened had I not been on Facebook in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, I think social media is a fantastic invention and has changed the way the entire world connects, but is that hurting us as a society?
