Injustice Scorpion DLC Revealed
It seems Nether Realm studios is at it again with the introduction of a “strange” and not quite fitting character into their fighting games.
A lot like the introduction of Freddy Krueger into their Mortal Kombat game, Nether Realm announced they will be introducing Scorpion from the Mortal Kombat universe into their DC character fighter; Injustice Gods Among Us. Though, this isn’t the first time Scorpions name has been thrown around as a potential DLC character. During the (delayed) Twitch.tv live stream event of Injustice, a “leaked” list of DLC characters were released and Scorpions name was on that list.
The community then didn’t take that too well, as the introduction of a Mortal Kombat character certainly waters down the whole Super Hero/Super Villain feel that Injustice so amazingly portrayed.
Forums are buzzing on testyourmight.com after the announcement of Scorpion as the next DLC character, it would appear fans are not too fond of Nether Realm’s decision. Scorpion appears to have the identical move list of his counter part from Nether Realms previous Mortal Kombat game, which could lead to an advantage for previous “veteran” Scorpion players.
The footage on the reveal trailer shows what appears to be an identical move list to the Scorpion from NetherRealm’s 2011 Mortal Kombat, but without personally playing the character I can’t officially confirm this.
Some fans feel that there are far better choices for DLC characters than a non DC one, and I am inclined to agree. This could potentially blur the lines between the two games Nether Realm has made, making Injustice feel like Mortal Kombat 9.5.
It’s a possibility that Nether Realm may make the choice to add more MK characters into the mix, which makes me a little nervous. (Some people feel this is a lazy let down from Nether Realm Studios… I am one of those people)
