I love The Hunger Games Trailer: But is it Awesome for New Fans Too?

Last week when the release date of the “Hunger Games” trailer was announced on like, every communication channel ever (I think I saw arrows etched with the message fly through the sky), I was thrilled to hear that we would soon be privy to more than a few seconds of footage from the upcoming “Hunger Games” movie.

Monday rolled around and once again my twitterfeed was filled with chatter about the new trailer, everywhere from mainstream entertainment press, to blogs to fashion magazines… which I guess makes sense given the large role fashion and clothing does play in the books… but I digress.

Anyway, my first reaction to the trailer was something along the lines of “Omigosh. New #HungerGames #trailer. So pleased with how it looks. I can hardly wait ’till March!” and “The trailer is so stellar! March 23rd can’t come soon enough.” . Because obviously the next step when watching something wonderful is to tweet, facebook and check in on Getglue. Next step was to plan the opening night outing with my two bffs, we will be wearing our Mockingjay pins and armed with Hunger Games cupcakes should you be so lucky to be near us that night.

Then, around the 6th or 7th viewing of the trailer, I began to wonder if those emotional punches and exciting moments were so effective for me, and for my friends who are also super fans because of our prior knowledge of the story.

This is my question to you folks out there who haven’t already devoured the trilogy, or at least the first book “Hunger Games”. What did you think of the trailer?

Hunger Games fans, what did you think? Love it, hate it, anything you would change about it? What more do you want to see (aside from the entire movie, like now!)

Let me know in the comments, I look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts and may the odds be ever in your favour.
