The Honest Trailer for Hulk Reminds Us That It Actually Happened
Before we had our fan-favourite Hulk take the big screen in the Avengers series…
Ang Lee turned the Incredible into Incredibly dull in 2003’s Hulk.
The guys at Screen Junkies remind us yet again that it wasn’t too long ago when superhero movies were a gigantic crapfest until Marvel decided that enough was finally enough.
While I commend Ang Lee’s approach to make Hulk more than an action film, the Hulk is the type of character that needs action. And, save from the mutant dogs and whatever the hell Nick Nolte wanted to do that day, there was no action. Hell, Bruce Banner (play monotonously by Eric Bana) didn’t even transform into the Hulk until 42 minutes into the film and even then it was an total disappointment.
You would think that Ang Lee’s Hulk would’ve served as a cautionary tale for superhero movies but I guess Bryan Singer didn’t get that memo.
Be sure to catch the Hulk and some other heroes in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 2!
