Hamilton ComicCon 2015
What a great weekend at Hamilton ComicCon! This convention is definitely picking up speed my friends. Held on October 3 & 4 at the Hamilton Convention Centre, it was the place to be.
Besides the fact that I had one of the best experiences personally as a Cosplayer getting great interactions with other Cosplayers, John Schneider (swoon…and a GREAT hugger) and my Clockwork Droid won Best Female Costume in the Costume Contest. I’m still coming off that high. So much fun!!
This convention is worth the price point for a few reasons. The entry cost won’t break the bank. It’s a bit more ‘indie’ so there isn’t a whole lot of pressure of crowding and missed opportunities with celebrities. I found all the guests to be friendly and willing to take the time to chat and interact with everyone. TONS of wrestling guests, so if you’re into that, you’ll be in heaven. The Costume Contest is pretty low key, you don’t have to spend a half a day at a masquerade as some of the bigger cons do and the awards are given directly after the contest.
Three floors of fun!! It seems there might be room for expansion if this con gets bigger. Also, bonus? It’s attached to a hotel!! Noone was happier than I was that you could walk from the Sheraton Hotel directly to the Hamilton Convention Centre without going outside, especially considering it was REALLY windy and raining.
Make sure to mark your calendars for next year, Hamilton ComicCon takes place October 1 & 2, 2016.
