Get to know the Guardians of the Galaxy in these new videos!
*Barney Stinson voice* Haaave you met The Guardians of the Galaxy?
If not, then check out the first official trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy to get up to speed and see why the whole nerd universe basically freaked out late Tuesday night.
Still have no idea who they are?
That’s cool because today Marvel Entertainment‘s official YouTube channel released five character videos on each of the Guardians. Think of it like the first day of school and your teacher forced you and your peers to tell everyone something interesting about themselves. Joking aside, this is a smart move on Marvel since not a lot of people have ever even heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy until news of it going into production was announced back in 2012.
First up was Rocket Raccoon, who’s voiced by Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper. Hint: Rocket Raccoon sounds exactly like Bradley Cooper. See the trailer above!
In the clip, director James Gunn described the furry gun-toting creature as “the heart of the movie”, while Cooper says that “Rocket has some real anger issues.”. Anger issues, huh? When I think of anger issues and Bradley Cooper, I automatically think of that football scene in Wedding Crashers.
Next up is Groot, played by Vin Diesel. Unfortunately, we don’t see Diesel in a mo-cap suit as Groot nor do we hear anything from him.
Pro-wrestler Dave Bautista plays the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. Bautista explains in the clip that he IS Drax and that Drax is HIS now. Have you seen how big Dave Bautista is? Do we really want to argue with the guy?
Zoe Saldana is Gamora, a stealth assassin who can kick your ass. But don’t worry, she has a heart of gold.
Andy Dwyer…er…I mean, Chris Pratt talks about his character, Peter ‘Star-Lord’ Quill.
Well, there they are. The Guardians of the Galaxy. Hopefully Marvel can spotlight some of the villains cause I REALLY need a ‘Meet Nebula’ video.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres in 3D and IMAX 3D August 1st, 2014.
