Who’s Doing What?!

Here is a list of Comic Books Stores participating in Free Comic Book Day in Toronto. Remember each store buys the sampler comics and therefore sets their own rules on numbers of free comics each person may have. If you see something you like, why not buy something by the same artist/creator!

Dave Johnson’s Poster for Silver Snail!

The Silver Snail 239 Yonge Street upstairs
Start Free Comic Book Day with a coffee at the Black Canary Cafe, it opens at 8 am! It’s also the start of Silver Snail’s anniversary sale. The storm troopers of the 501st and other cosplayers will be available for pictures and from noon to 7pm get Silver Snail’s special poster signed by artist Dave Johnson and artists from Spent Pencil studio.

Hairy Tarantula Comics Games 354 Yonge Street upstairs (11 am -9) and 6979 Yonge Street (12-7)
Hairy Tarantula wants to make sure as many sampler comics get into as many hands as possible, so they have policy of everyone only getting one copy of each sampler available. (If you’re not able to make it on Saturday, they often let younger fans have access to the comics for a few days afterwards!)

One Million Comix 531 Yonge Street
One Million Comix has four artists sketching and signing at the store from 10-noon including J. Bone, Raffaele Ienco, and, from Elektra’s current run, Mike Del Mundo and Marco D’Alfanso.

North End

Paradise Comics 3278 Yonge Street (four blocks north of Lawrence)
Celebrate from noon until 6 pm with five different artists including:
Keith Grachow, Arnold Trinidad, Rob Vellone, Alex Perkins, and Lisa Leblanc.

Cyber City Comix 1025A Steeles West (Steeles just west of Bathurst)

And Hairy Tarantula North 6979 Yonge Street (at Steeles!) 12-7pm

East End

Comics & More 1325 The Danforth (near Woodbine)

Atomic Age Comics 497 Pape Avenue

Annex/Kensington Market/College

The Beguiling 601 Markham Street
Celebrations run between noon and six Ed Piskor, creator of Hip Hop Family Tree,Tom Scioli, writer/artist of GI Joe vs. Transformers, Joe Ng, artist of Street Fighter, and Chip Zdarsky (3-6 only) co-creator of Sex Criminals.

The Labyrinth Store 386 Bloor Street West just west of Spadina 10:30 to 8 pm
Beyond a selection of free comics, there are sales on graphic novels and manga.

Dr. Comics 44 Kensington Avenue
Dr. Comics is having Marvel Legend Chris Claremont sign from 11 am to 5!

The Comic Pile 254 Augusta Ave
10-6pm There will be sales and door crasher items plus come in costume for chances to win extra prizes!

Little Island Comics 742 Bathurst Street
This store focuses on comics for kids, which includes Free Comic Book Day events with Maddy Kettle’s creator Eric Orchard starting at noon.

Comic Book Lounge & Gallery logo

The Comic Book Lounge and Gallery 587A College Street (upstairs) Noon – 8 pm
Join several artists including David Cutler, Shane Kirshenblatt, and Rachael Wells and several local cosplayers!

West End

West End Comics 1590 Queen Street West between Roncesvalle and Jameson
