Game of Thrones – Not Just on HBO Anymore
For all you folks who don’t get HBO but have been craving some fantastic fantasy programming, winter is coming to Showcase this February. Game of Thrones is making its Canadian cable premiere on February 15th at 10pm.
When a show with the kind of violence and nudity that Game of Thrones contains (I’ll make a conservative guesstimate at 85% of screen time contains nudity and/or what could be described as “excessive violence”) I have to wonder how much will be cut and how much will actually make it to screen. I’m being cautiously optimistic given the late night time-slot and that Showcase is known to be edgy.
Watching the season one trailer that Showcase put together makes me fall in love with the series all over again.
Watch the series from the beginning starting with “Winter is Coming” on Showcase Friday night’s at 10pm debuting February 15th.
Do you think Game of Thrones will remain largely intact on late night Showcase? Will you take this opportunity to catch up before the series resumes with season three at the end of March?
I think they’ll leave it in. CBC (!) aired the Tudors, and I’m not sure what if anything they cut in that, but it was pretty racy. Just watch WebDreams or SinCities, which I think is on at like 10pm! There does seem to be more tolerance slowly creeping into TV. They have to keep up with the interwebs, they’re losing customers. Can’t wait for Season 3. We’ll do a marathon and watch S1 and S2 prior to the start so we’re all freshened up.
Did they not cut the Theon sex scene with Ros in Episode 5?
Will season three be shown on Showcase–I would hate to get into the series and not be able to finish it. I don’t have HBO.
