G33KPRON Interviews Electric Lady – Cosplayer Extraordinaire!

Electric Lady is a cosplayer from Las Vegas, Nevada, who has been cosplaying for nine years. I asked her a few questions about her process, the cosplay community and pets.

Q: Other than your sewing machine, what is a tool you cannot live without?
A: Probably my serger, I just got it earlier this year and I’ve never used one before that, but now I can’t stand to make anything without it unless i’m lining it ^^;

Q: Do you have a goal when you cosplay and how have your cosplay goals changed over the years?
A: I used to have goals of being the best cosplayer of ‘such and such’ character, but now I’m just worried about getting my costumes done on time and being comfortable wearing them.

Q: What is one thing you would like to see more of within the cosplay community?
A: I feel like a majority of people focus more on how to be known in the community more than anything now a days. I guess I just rather see people work harder on the craft then getting a larger number of likes on their pages.

Q: What do your friends and family think of your hobby?
A: I think my mother is finally proud of me. Most of my friends think it’s a pretty cool hobby, especially around Halloween. Hah.

Q: Do you have any pets? Do they mess with your supplies or equipment?
A: I have a cat who loves to spread out on new fabric XD But at least she doesn’t like to play in my patterns.
