Forging Thor’s Hammer, Mjölnir
Tony Swatton is bringing the hammer down on awesomeness. He runs a forge in Burbank, California, and uses his talent with metal to craft weapons from movies, comics and video games. Nothing is off the table for Swatton.
In preparation for the release of Thor: The Dark World, Swatton is trying to show he is worthy of Thor’s power by forging his very own Mjölnir. There is something therapeutic about watching metal being worked. The star of the web series, Man At Arms, literally takes nothing and then makes something incredible out of it. A prize so grand, even Odin would be proud of it. It looks pretty, but does it work?
This is the best part about Swatton’s show, he puts all his weapons to the test. Move over Gallagher, Thor is the new main act at this show. Swatton crushes Thor’s hammer, with a satisfying thud, on multiple watermelons and pulverizes numerous bones. The man enjoys his work, and who wouldn’t want to pump their fist in the air while holding a hammer of the gods?
He may not have been blessed by the gods to make it, but god is it awesome.
Thor: The Dark World will be released in North America on November 5th and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Anthony Hopkins.
