Ford, Fisher, and Hamill to Return to the Star Wars Universe
Hello. What have we here?
It appears our terrific trio will be returning to the big screen for the lastest installment in the Star Wars franchise. Star Wars creator, George Lucas, confirmed that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are on board for Star Wars Episode VII.
“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison – or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation,” Lucas told Bloomberg Businessweek. “So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’ Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.” He added coyly, “I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”
Sounds to me like Mr. Lucas accidentally spilled the beans, then tried to save himself.
The extent of their exhibition is yet to be determined. Personally, as much as I love the characters of the original trilogy, I’m hoping their appearances are not too excessive. I’m ready to see a new side of the Star Wars universe that we have only dreamed about.
There have been numerous rumours that ‘Episode VII’ will focus on Han and Leia’s children. I do believe that this could continue the story of a war-torn galaxy, all while giving a fresh look to the new generation.
This should provide our original characters the preservation of nobility in their old age, to boot.

I was under the impression that George Lucas was no longer involved, so I’m surprised he’s connected to negotiations.
