First footage of the Evil Dead remake!

Now seeing as how I’m one of the biggest Bruce Campbell fans around, I was extremely skeptical of the Evil Dead remake ESPECIALLY because Bruce isn’t in it! Yep, they made Ash a girl. But is this a bad thing? Well after watching this, I’d have to say no, no it isn’t.

This new Evil Dead centers around Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety, who heads to the famous cabin in the woods with her brother friends, and well, we all know what happens from there.

This almost feels like an entirely different movie – and a hell of a lot scarier, which was the intent of the original movie. As we all know, the lack of budget and over acting by the Chin himself made the original franchise a campy, cult hit – my favorite horror franchise for its blend of comedy and horror. This new remake seems to be closer to Raimi’s original vision of disturbing horror which will definitely be interesting to see.

I know a lot of fans are hating that this is happening but I’m really curious to see how it’ll turn out. What do you think of think first glimpse? Think the fans will love it or hate it?
