The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy Needs YOU!
Are you a fangirl? Do you live in or around Toronto? If so, you’re needed for an important mission!
Author and friend of GEEKPR0N Sam Maggs is looking for help to shoot a trailer for her latest book, The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy. This awesome novel celebrates being a girl, being a geek, and everything that comes with it.
Later this month in Toronto, she will be hosting an open casting call to film a trailer for the upcoming book. Whether you’re an actor looking for a gig or a home-grown nerd looking to show off your pride, this event is a rare opportunity. The filming will be handled by Spencer Barclay, whom also filmed the trailer for Chris Hadfield’s An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth.
The awesome ladies who attend will be reciting lines from The Geek Girl’s Litany for Feminism, and the best part is that you get to wear your favourite cosplay while doing it!
If you’re not ready to memorize a bunch of lines for filming, don’t worry. It’s only a few lines per person and cue cards will be available, as well as pizza for a job well done. And since the event is the same weekend as March Toronto Comic Con, you should have your cosplays ready to go!
