Exclusive ‘Castle’ Season 4 Premiere Sneak Peek
Castle ended it’s incredibly third season with a thrilling and emotional intense finale including a shocking cliffhanger. To whet our appetites (and drive anticipation through the roof), ABC released a sneak peek of the first few minutes back.
Clip after the jump, steer clear if you’re allergic to spoilers.
We open with Beckett (Stana Katic) seriously wounded after being shot in the season 3 cliff hanger, being rushed through the hospital on a gurney with Lanie (Tamala Jones) by her side. s Castle (Nathan Fillion) is absolutely distraught. We also enter into the operating room to find a certain heart surgeon also known by Dr. Motorcycle Boy. Of course Ryan (Seamus Dever) & Esposito (Jon Huertas) are there and on the case trying to find the shooter.
My only criticism of the clip is the stupidly cheesy line in the OR delivered by Dr. Motorcycle Boy, but it’s okay because he’s cheesy:
“You can’t operate on her, she’s your girlfriend”
“She’s dying”
The big question looms and it’s not will she survive because that’s obvious. It’s will Beckett remember Castle’s “I love you” when she wakes up? How will their relationship develop over the course of the season?
Castle has always been able to balance self-contained episodes along with the series long story about the murder of Beckett’s mother which continues to get deeper. It manages to do so because the cases are usually fun and interesting and those episodes usually provide room for all the amazing supporting cast and characters to shine, and grow and be developed.
I’m a fan of the case of the week, the love story, and the seasons long deep mystery. What do you watch for?
Castle premieres Monday September 19th at 10pm on ABC and CTV
