Even More Guardians of the Galaxy Greatness!
44 days and counting. That’s how long Guardians of the Galaxy fans have to wait before Marvel unleashes their most audacious film yet. You see, fans of the Guardians know something you don’t: This film is going to blow everyone away!
The hype train has no brakes, and Marvel is like a mad conductor, steamrolling forward throwing out trailers left and right. Today’s new trailer comes from Marvel UK’s YouTube channel. In addition to some previously released footage from the first couple of trailers, we’ve been given a LOT of new footage to ogle.
The trailer kicks off with a look at young Peter Quill on the day he discovered that not only were we not alone in the galaxy, but sometimes the aliens come to visit. Especially when you’re half-alien yourself. Flash forward to today and we’ve got the Nova Corps on high alert facing what has to be a Kree armada bearing down on Xandar, and the only way to stop them? The Guardians of the Galaxy. Rhomann Dey says it best: “This might not be the best idea.”
So what’s good about the trailer? Rocket. Bradley Cooper took fans by surprise when he was announced at the voice of Rocket, but after watching this trailer, any doubts they may have had about the casting should be long gone. He absolutely NAILS Rocket’s tone from his maniac laugh to his box of bombs. In addition, we get a bit more context for Groot’s “I am Groot” from the 2nd trailer, and it looks like James Gunn has gone the Chewbacca route for Groot, with everyone being able to understand him (except the audience). I’m secretly hoping for an easter egg in the blu-ray release that subtitles everything Groot says.
So what’s not so good? The fact that we still have to wait 44 more days before we can see it! D’ast it all Marvel, why can’t you release it sooner!
