These Early E.T. Concept Art Photos Are Things Of Nightmares
Below is the E.T. we all knew and loved:
…and below is the stuff of nightmares:
OH GOOD GOD WHAT IS THAT?!
That photo is just one of the few shots of early E.T. concept art for the alien from Steven Spielberg’s E.T: The Extra Terrestrial. The designs of the alien were done for another Spielberg movie that didn’t happen, Night Skies, which was actually intended to be a horror movie centred around a family being terrorized by aliens in their rural farmhouse.
Special effects artist, Rick Baker, is behind these bad boys, creating them for Night Skies. After the plug was pulled for the movie, Baker refused to work with Spielberg on E.T. but his designs were still the inspiration for the titular alien.
