Doctor Who vs Star Wars: A Fight Breaks Out Between Fandoms
BBC reported that police were called to break up a fight amongst a group of Star Wars and Doctor Who fans at a Sci-Fi convention in Norwich, UK.
You can only imagine what this must have looked like…
The two groups began clashing after Doctor Who fans came to get autographs from two Doctor Who actors at the convention. The police responded to a claim of a man being assaulted, although it was confirmed after the investigation that no assault had taken place.
The rival groups of sci-fi fans — many of them dressed as their favorite characters — were instructed by police to stay out of each other’s way.
“It does sound comical. People that dress up in costume are labelled geeks and some people laugh at us, and this just makes it even more so,” said Dominic Warner, the secretary of Norwich Star Wars Club.
