Official Cast Announcements For the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special

Bright and early on this Doctor Who day BBC and BBC America officially announced the all-star cast for the 50th anniversary episode that begins filming next week!

David Tennant will resume his role as the 10th Doctor alongside Billie Piper returning as Rose Tyler, the original companion of the rebooted run. The pair will of course be joined by Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, the eleventh Doctor and his mysterious new companion Clara (Oswin) Oswalt.

John Hurt is also set to join the 50th anniversary episode as well as co-star in the 3D anniversary special later this year.

The 50th anniversary will be written by Steven Moffat and Directed by Nick Hurran.
