Disney Princesses discover the light and dark sides of the force (Star Wars crossover)

Nerds that grew up loving the wide-eyed adventures of Disney princesses as well as the epic battles of light and dark are squeeing with pleasure right now. We’ve secretly wondered which Disney princess would join what side in the Star Wars ‘verse and we’re not the only ones, apparently. Illustrator Ralph Sevelius–who has depicted such eye-popping delights as Wonder Woman deflecting bullets with her bracelets–has assigned the Disney princesses teams.

Now we can imagine a world where Ariel is a jedi in her oceanic kingdom. I guess she’s abandoned Eric, recognizing a higher calling of guiding the light forces under the sea. We can see the inspiration drawn from Kit Fisto’s aquatic adventures. On his blog, Sevelius admits to borrowing “visual motifs from different Jedis such as Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto.”

Aww! Rapunzel is adorable and mischevious-looking as a Jedi. In Sevelius’s illustration, Rapunzel is captured in her emancipated state as a short-haired brunette rather than as the better-known, more iconic blonde with long locks. ‘Punzel would be a kick-ass addition to the good team!

Now, here’s a surprise: Snow White is a sith. But really, who wouldn’t go to the dark side after your stepmother tries to get you killed? This Snow White could protect herself from any huntsmen and non-consensual prince kisses.

This is the latest Disney thing to make us giggle with delight. Now if we could only forget Disney 66ing Lucas Arts after acquiring it only several months ago. Talk about going to the dark side!
