Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes
When Skylanders first came out my kids were going nuts for this game, and spent hours upon hours playing, and hunting for every figure they could find. Then Disney released their version, Disney Infinity, which I got excited for because it was an opportunity to play with your favorite Disney character. Creating your own world to play was something I couldn’t believe could happen, yet Disney managed to pull it off.
On April 30th, Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Coulson, in the Marvel films, and on the show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”, made the announcement of Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes. Which put the rumors and speculation of the addition of Marvel Characters to rest.
The game setting itself is going to be much bigger, to encompass the powers and abilities of all the Marvel charters have, which a lot of them will include flying around the city, and those who can’t fly, will have motorcycles and cars to get around in. Or even a mighty power leap.
There will be so many different Marvel characters to battle fan favorite villain, half brother of Thor, “Loki”, and Captain America villain “M.O.D.O.K.”.
The Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Universe starter pack includes, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Thor the God of Thunder, the Avengers themed playset, and two power discs. Other characters have to be purchased separately. Additional figures will either be an Infinity figure, or a Power Disc, bought from the blind packs. (And that’s my wallet having a heart attack). Some of the power discs that will be released include Captain America’s partner Winter Soldier, The Iron Patriot for Iron Man, and my personal favorite…. LOLA the flying car from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Don’t touch Lola!)
I’m so excited that Groot & Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy make an appearance in the game. Even if it’s just a cameo, although I’m hoping for a two pack figure set.
I showed the trailer to my kids, and my oldest kid’s jaw dropped, and my youngest got super excited because Hawkeye is his favorite character (way before the Avengers movie was released, West Coast Avengers Hawkeye from the comics version). So I can see multiple trips to the electronics section at stores looking for all the hard to find ones. Hopefully our spider sense will go off and we can find the wall crawling menace in our first pack.
My biggest hope is that J. Jonah Jameson played by J.K. Simmons makes a cameo at some point, because the Daily Bugle is shown during the trailer with Spider Man swinging by it.
