#CriticalHeal: 25 Hours of Gaming for Kids
There’s a major charity event coming to Toronto made for geeks by geeks. #CriticalHeal (as the heads behind it call it) will be held on October 25th in Richtree Natural Market in the Eaton Centre of Toronto. Founded by the social meet-up group known as Geekz United, the group devised an idea to create a massive social event based around the Extra Life charity event.
Extra Life is a massive worldwide charity event wherein different groups of gamers raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by playing games for twenty five hours starting on October 25th. For this event Geeks United created #CriticalHeal and managed to secure a live event within the Eaton Centre to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital.

For a first event #CriticalHeal has promised a lot from the outset. They’ve managed to secure a sponsorship from Xbox Canada to run tournaments and Pre-release demos. In addition to that they’re planning over 10,000 dollars in giveaways and prizes from sponsors to encourage people to come out. That is in addition to their League of Legends tournament as well as countless board games and tabletop games being run during the event. On top of that the group is planning an ongoing livestream event for people to watch. The event itself starts at 11am and runs the whole twenty five hours until completion.
Thus far, people can still donate to the event up to and during the time. The entire focus of the event is to get as many people as possible to come out, play and donate to the cause.
Hopefully the work of the folks at #CriticalHeal will be promising. They’ve promoted the event through social media and as many live events as possible so there should be an amazing turnout.
Let’s wish them the very best.
