Constantine is Coming!

It looks like there’ll be hell to pay with the new official trailer for the Constantine TV show, coming to NBC in a few months.

Based on DC Vertigo’s legendary Hellblazer comic series, the new television series follows the exploits of magic con-man John Constantine. The trailer for the show promises plenty of eerie occult thrills with plenty of Constantine’s signature razor wit along the way.

Fans of the Hellblazer comics will remember that as a young man, Constantine had a spell in Ravenscar Asylum following some of his earlier failed exploits with magic. His time in the asylum is featured prominently in the trailer, along with glances at his exploits with the forces of Heaven, Hell, and a myriad of the the lost souls in between. Matt Ryan, playing the show’s titular anti-hero, looks to be doing a bang-up job of capturing John’s sarcasm, seediness and overall charm.

Constantine is scheduled to air Friday nights on NBC starting in the fall. So, just in time to give you a legitimate reason for not doing your homework on Friday nights. Along with Arrow, the upcoming Gotham, Flash, and iZombie series, as well as the new Agent Carter show and a renewal of Agents of SHIELD for a second season, it looks like nerds will be taking over TV over the next few months.
